Identify your product
Read the product name in your purchase confirmation and installed app. Use the matching official activation guide linked below.
Activate Premium Security on Windows
Open Menu → Enter activation code. Paste your code with its hyphens, then follow Next. If offered a choice of apps, select the products you want and choose Activate & install.
Or use your Avast Account
In Premium Security, choose Menu → Sign in. Use the account that holds the subscription and complete the sign-in steps shown in the app or browser. Return to the app when prompted.
Check the result
Open Menu → My subscriptions and confirm the intended subscription is active. Check the app’s protection status separately; an account login alone does not verify device protection.

Activating Avast One
Avast One is a separate product family. Its paid features can be activated using a linked Avast Account, a one-time passcode or an activation code. Depending on the version, begin in Menu → Enter activation code or Menu → My subscriptions. Use the official Avast One instructions for your screen.
Using Avast on a Mac
In Avast Security, the code route is Menu → My subscriptions → Activate paid features. Enter the code and select Activate. The account sign-in route can open your browser and then return you to the app. Windows and Mac menu labels are not interchangeable.
Where to find your Avast activation code
Check your purchase confirmation email or the subscription details in your Avast Account. The portal is being updated, so the layout may differ. Copy the code accurately, including any hyphens. An order number identifies a transaction; it is not a replacement for an activation code.
Free software and paid subscriptions
Avast Free Antivirus activates automatically after installation. A paid code is for the corresponding paid product or features. Check what you purchased before applying a code to a different app. Device allowances and availability follow your specific plan and region.

Check the account email against your purchase receipt and confirm the installed app matches the purchase. Store purchases and free apps may not appear like website purchases in the account portal.

Check the devices allowed by your subscription. Use the official instructions for each platform; a Windows installer cannot install the mobile app.
